When it comes to Network Marketing, one topic that I harp upon when discussing how to start an Internet business with newbies is personal branding. It is huge and should be at the very beginning of any effort to establishing yourself online.
Network Marketing is after all marketing yourself to others, so the brand is you, that’s the easy part. Crafting a campaign around the brand that is you is where many people miss the mark. The basic principle in creating this campaign is to ask yourself a question, “How do I want to be perceived by the people who see my brand?”
The perception you create is going to leave a lasting impression and that is what a brand should exactly do. Now how much effort you put into creating the brand will determine if that impression is a good one or not.
There are several key components to create a brand. Here are some of the ones that I consider to be essential.
- Bio/About Me/About Us - You should have on every webpage, every forum, every social media site, a bio about yourself. Let your visitors know who you are, your background, what you like to do. In Network Marketing this is very important for obvious reasons.
- Positive Image/Photo - How you present yourself is the first impression your audience will react to, make it as good as you can. No need to go to a professional to have a great image, just use common sense. Dress the part, make sure the surroundings make sense and by all means eliminate any clutter that may be in the background.
- Logo -Some will disagree on this, but I feel that it adds that extra little bit of professionalism to your campaign. It is not that hard to come up with a good looking logo and the simplest one can be your signature, yes the signature you sign checks with. Mine is just that.If your lost, look around the web for inspiration, chance are you’ll find something that catches your eye in no time that can be worked into something unique. Just don’t break any trademarks.
- Color Scheme and Fonts- Choose colors and fonts that set the right tone for your campaign. Make sure that the colors do not distract from your readers ability to read your content. Purple text on a red background is pretty tough to read and I have seen people do just that.
- Consistency - This is a must. Now that you have created your brand, use it everywhere and use it the same.
That sums up the basics of personal branding. If you are just starting out give this some very special attention. If would like any assistance on How to Start an Internet Business please reach me through the Contact Scott Page
