I get asked on several occasions the question; “What are the best ways to promote various online income opportunities?” My response always includes one of my favorite ways to promote and to drive traffic, Article Marketing.

Article Marketing if done with careful attention can drive traffic to a website within minutes of being posted. The key is to follow some guidelines throughout the process. It is much more involved than just writing an article and posting it online.

You can write an extremely good article, well written, attention grabbing, and informative. But if it lacks just a few key characteristics it will never rank high in search engines, an important part of driving traffic to your website thus affecting your potential online income.

I am now going to go over those few characteristics that should be a part of every article you write if you are looking to gain traffic as a result. After all isn’t that what Article Marketing is about?

The subject of your article is going to related to the niche that you are involved in. Always write original content. I personally don’t like to use article spinners, they tend to make cheap looking articles in my opinion. Below are some key elements of the article that need careful attention.

The Title – You are not going to just come up with a title that sounds good and relevant to the subject, you’re going to do keyword research first. You need a keyword phrase of 3 to 4 words that is going to rank high in search engines in a short period of time.You need to pick this phrase based on the number of monthly searches, and the amount of competition. There are a number of tools available that assist you with this research rather easily.

The Structure – You should write your article using the keyword phrase in a couple of strategic locations within the article. It should be used in the first paragraph, the last paragraph, and at 1 or 2 other points in the main body. Do not over use this phrase, it will not read well when used too many times.

Keep your paragraphs to about 3 sentences in length, 2 is fine, 5 is too many in most cases. Write with a style that makes the reader stay engaged. Make sure that the flow of the article makes sense. And keep the length to around 500 words, not many people online will read a 1500 word essay.

Post and Distribute – Once you’ve completed your article you need to give it a push start. By using article directories and social media you’ll give the article a quicker presence online then it would get just by posting to your site alone. There are a number of tools you can use to make some of this more time effective, but it will take some effort to produce the desired results.

Promoting online income opportunities involves more than just using Article Marketing alone. A solid plan will use various other marketing methods.
