The 4 Most Common Mistakes Made By Newbies

by Scott Henderson on July 14, 2011

Think about the time when you first discovered the massive scope that exists for earning money online through internet marketing and the chances are it felt incredibly exciting. Sadly however most newbies fail and never make the sort of money they expect.

Why is this?

Well there are a million and one different reasons why an individual fails online, however here are four common mistakes made by newbie internet marketers. Avoid these and you will stand a much greater chance of success.

#1 NOT TAKING ACTION
The biggest mistake newbie internet marketers make is not taking action. People buy a shiny new eBook or video course, scan through it and then let it sit on their hard drive. In many cases the product doesn’t even get looked at!

I know it sounds obvious, but the simple fact is that if you don’t take action you’ll never make any money online!

#2 A LACK OF FOCUS
One of the most common mistakes made by newbie internet marketers is having a lack of focus. You try one method, put it into action, sit back and then it doesn’t work. You give up on it, try something else, that doesn’t work…. and so the cycle goes on.

Sound familiar? Yep, we’ve all done it, but what you must realise is that you need to focus on one method and stick it out until you make it work. Tweak, test and figure out why you’re getting the results you are. Once you’ve made it work it’s just a case of replicating it enough times so that your income increases.

#3 BELIEVING IN THE MAGIC PILL
Internet marketing offers an incredible opportunity to make money online but at the end of the day it is a business just like any other. You need products or services which people can buy and you need to find people to buy them (customers!)

There is NO magic pill, secret tactic or cash machine where you press a button and money falls out. If you want to succeed online you must accept the fact that you need to build a real business and stop believing in the magic pill.

#4 GIVING UP
We have covered this in a way in some of the things mentioned above, but one of the most common mistakes made by newbie internet marketers is giving up.

Once you know what you’re doing, making money online is NOT that hard but it doesn’t require persistence, massive action and continued effort. I can’t prove it but I believe that many people give up just before they are about to achieve success. Most people want instant results and if only they stuck at things a little longer they would start to see good results.

Can you see a reoccurring theme here? To succeed online you need to learn a solid method, put it into action, stick at it until it works and then sustain it over the long term. In short you need to build a real business.

So get out there, be strong, never give up, and fight for your dreams!! You can do it, I know you can.

Cheers,
Scott
